Mr. Walker, unfortunately, is gone.  But his still still works, and this website helps to illustrate the method of construction.  Ray Walker's book, "Domestic Distiller: Building A Home Distillation Apparatus" comprehensively describes the construction of a still suitable for home use.  We are about to offer a PDF version for downloading to your computer  (September 2011).

The materials required to build the still, and the manner of construction is laid out with some wit and in great detail in Walker's book.  This still produces pure 90+ proof alcohol. Constituent hardware parts total roughly $500 US.  NB: we emphasize, especially to those residing in the USA, that "home use" is not always legal in your jurisdiction.

Mr. Ray Walker studied chemistry (and miniskirts) in England for about five years some 40-odd years ago.  Most of his career he serviced hospital equipment for GE (General Electric), mainly in North America. Sadly, Walker passed away in St. Paul's hospital in Vancouver, February 2010.

As Walker himself would say, you can do this
